Description   Snowden Flood is an amazing London based designer whose designs are quite difficult to find in the States. She currently designs custom textiles and accessories for interior designers and architects. Her portfolio of clients include Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Jaeger and the Four Seasons Hotel. Her commercially available collection of textiles and ceramics are laser-cut silhouettes of well-known urban London sites. They are graphic, fun and colorful. She takes an industrial building and adds beauty and wit to its otherwise gray and dour exterior. This apron boasts a printed green silhouette of the well-known London landmark called the Battersea Power station. The Battersea Power Station was the first in a series of large coal-fired electrical generating facilities set up in England during the first half of the last century, as part of a National Grid power distribution system. Battersea Power Station was considered the cutting edge of power generation and an architectural triumph. In 1975, half of the Power Station, by then quite out of date, was decommissioned, followed eight years later by the rest of the building. Battersea may soon have a new lease of life - in the most sustainable development ever undertaken in Europe. Under new plans for the site currently being developed by Treasury Holdings, new homes, new jobs and better transport links will create a significant new urban quarter in Battersea. They plan to offer a sensitive regeneration of the Power Station with zero carbon emissions, a sustainable public transport solution and a sustainable mix of homes, community and leisure space.* So an old coal burning station will soon become a 100% sustainable living space with zero carbon emissions.
