We were thrilled when we saw Thomas Paul's scrimshaw melamine
plates. It is sure to
be your favorite "go to" gift item and your favorite plates to use-
year round of course! This set includes 4 11" dinner plates with 4
different images: an anchor, ship, pelican, and lighthouse- all white on
Scrimshaw was an art practiced by sailors on whaling ships out at sea. It usually consisted of elaborate whaling scenes incised into the teeth of whales. The scrimshaw melamine collection looks to recapture the feeling of this art form, luckily no whales were harmed this time!
- dishwasher safe
- not recommended for use in the microwave
About the Designer
Paul is a native New Yorker, a graduate of FIT and a designer with a
great eye for textile design. His creative patterns and fanciful designs
delight the eye. These plates, trays and coasters have stunning images and are great to use for
an outdoor picnic, or for the children, or for the older family members
who always drop things or just because you are tired of looking at your
boring old-fashioned china! Bring a little design into your meal!
